In February of 2004, Sabrina, in partnership with The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, developed a 33-question survey based on their collective knowledge about teens and sex and what questions had not yet been asked of this audience. In September 2004, a nationally-representative sample of teenagers between the ages of 12 - 17 were interviewed via a ten-minute online survey by Ipsos, a leading market research company. The objective of this survey was to discern teenagers' attitudes about sex. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, parents were allowed to review the survey content before allowing their teen to respond. Parents that agreed to allow their child to participate were encouraged to provide their child with privacy while they were responding to the survey so the teenagers could answer the questions openly and honestly.

The results of the survey were tabulated and analyzed in March of 2005, and appear in the book The Real Truth about Teens and Sex (Penguin, 2005). Some of the results were also published in Time magazine's excerpt of the book in their September 5, 2005 issue. The excerpt was titled, "How to Talk to a Teenager About SEX (without shutting down the conversation or embarrassing both of you)."
